After David Stevens, the Mayor of Reading/Berkshire, Düsseldorf's English twin city, had signed a first brick in early September, as part of the HEXAGON Project Matt Hulse and I are working on, we were very happy about the invitation to a reception at the townhall of Düsseldorf by Dr. Stephan Keller, the Mayor of Düsseldorf. As part of the 75th anniversary of the founding of North Rhine-Westphalia, on Ocotber 4th 2021 Mayor Stevens signed the golden book of the city of Düsseldorf. In this context and to the great pleasure of Matt Hulse and me, Dr. Stephan Keller signed a brick from Düsseldorf for us. Matt had transported the brick signed by Mayor Stevens all the way from Reading to the reception at the townhall of Düsseldorf, so the two mayors could be photographed together with the two bricks. Thereby, a new tradition of brick signing came into being and only one month later Rachel Eden, the current Mayor of Reading, signed a third brick.
